About A.G. Vickery

A.G. Vickery is a writer, father, husband, entrepreneur, and football coach.

His two little girls were once the most prolific creators of refrigerator art in the continental United States before becoming highly decorated scholars and musicians.

He was married… a couple of times… before a girl he’d known in high school stepped in to turn his scars into art. She came with boys included—they call him Pop now, which is one of those late graces a man does not earn all at once but receives one ordinary day at a time.

Vickery’s work blends Southern realism, theological reflection, and hard-won humor to tell the truth about hope, redemption, and return. His essays and novels are lived-in rather than imagined — drawn from real failures, reconciliations, and hard conversations.

What emerges is not sentimentality but focus — grief turned into wisdom, self-inflicted wounds into perspective, and memory into meaning.

Vickery’s work invites readers to learn from both triumph and failure, and to see the larger story hidden inside ordinary daily life. His writing insists that family, memory, place, and faith possess their own dignity, far away from the glamour of social media and the varnish of reputation.
